When I was a little kid I had sets of markers which always included a yellow, yet it was so faint and light – it could barely be seen on the paper. It also made the darker colors bleed and smear. I wondered “Why the Yellow?” Later, I figured it out. The power of yellow is in contrast – when put down on the paper first and then outlined with black, it became the most eye catching color of all. This is a speed drawing with a yellow hi-lighter and black Tombow dual brush, captured on a Casio digital still camera.
